You can use any VoIP service provider with kvats / qutecom.

Well, as long as Wengo is providing it (they changed their service portfolio completely and you probably should better not rely on it), simply go to the kvats login menu and configure a new profile.

As a parameter for Wengo for realm / host and proxy you should use voip.wengo.fr and port 5060 (default).

Thank you for your reply!

I typed the following to make it work:

login /user name: your_name
SIP Domain/Realm: voip.wengo.fr
display name: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Advanced:
Server: voip.wengo.fr
Proxy: voip.wengo.fr Port: 5060

Iīve tested it with another wengo user who still has Wengophone installed. Incoming calls are ok but I canīt initiate outgoing calls. Can anyone confirm that?

Furthermore Iīve learned that you canīt send ICQ offline messages. I thought the newest libpurple is capable of that or will it be available if the software progresses to beta status?

Hmm, no idea why outgoing calls do not work anymore with a Wengo account. Make sure you don't have any other VoIP client running on the sam local network.

Regarding IM, we do not use libpurple yet. Jan Kalab has started migrating from libgaim to libpurple. See the qutecom developer meiling list for details.

News from qutecom:

Iīve just had a look at their website after a while and found out that RC 2 is out.

Iīve tried the same as mentioned in my last post. But now Iīm unable to connect (at least this is the information of the icon). My receiver with Wengophone software saw me online (green telephone symbol) but was unable to start a call. I couldnīt call him also since the receiver list wasnīt displayed.

Nevertheless he could send me Wengophone/Qutecom text messages, i.e. chatted with me. Strange!

Is ICQ offline messaging possible now? Iīve learned that RC 2 uses libpurple but this function doesnīt seem to be implemented grapically so far.

Yes, we've integrated now libpurple, but most new features do not correspond to a GUI yet. Any help is appreciated, see the qutecom mailing list for the ongoing technical debates.
