Was für mich nicht klar heraus gekommen ist, ist das kvats Projekt ein eigenständiger Fork des OpenWengo Projektes oder entwickelt man gemeinsam an einem Client?

kvats ist kein fork, sondern eine leicht adaptierte Version von WengoPhone / Qutecom.

Zum Hintergrund: Wengo hat die Entwicklungstätigkeiten Ende 2007 für WengoPhone eingestellt. mdbsys hat mit Wengo eine Vereinbarung geschlossen, das SoftPhone weiterzuentwickeln. osAlliance musste anfang 2008 eine Entscheidung für eine Marke treffen, unter der das Softphone präsentiert wird. Wir haben auch der Community angeboten, "kvats" zu verwenden, aber mdbsys entschied sich für den Namen "Qutecom" als neuen Produktnamen für WengoPhone. Wir arbeiten mit den Leuten bei mdbsys eng zusammen.

kvats unterscheidet sich von Qutecom im Wesentlichen durch die Präsentation von A1 im client. Qutecom hat derzeit keine Pläne für ein nächstes Release veröffentlicht.
